Unassuming, homely, hearty Italian

The Alfred Guide Tip

book and sit downstairs and good for groups.

46 Brewer St, Soho, London W1F 9TF

In the middle of brewer street, on the surface Mele e Pere gives off an Italian cafe vibe, with aluminum glazed double doors.

However when you head downstairs you are greeted with a Modern yet classic Italian patriotic welcome. A copper topped bar, quirky lighting and an eclectic table and seat arrangement gives you the feel of a very cosy home restaurant. Low key music and filled with a buzz from a cosy table arrangement results in a fun atmosphere.

I had the roast porchetta with Nöel Otto beans, Nduja and fried black cabbage and the affogato to finish an expertly balance dessert.

Drink of choice Menebrea, light and full of flavour.
